The SkyBlock hub is full of NPCs and holograms, and every hologram line is an invisible armor stand. Minecraft rebuilds all of them every frame. Install Entity Keepsake (Fabric, client-side): it reuses the work for entities that haven't changed, and nothing is hidden. In a crowded test scene it went from 52.4 to 85.3 FPS.
If your FPS is fine on your island but drops in the hub, the Dwarven Mines entrance, the Dungeon Hub or the Crimson Isle, entities are the usual cause. Hypixel builds every NPC name, quest marker and floating label from stacks of invisible armor stands, and the hub has hundreds of them, plus player-shaped NPCs and item displays.
Every frame, the game turns each visible entity into a render state and then into geometry, even if the entity has stood still for an hour. Chunk mods like Sodium don't help here, because this is entity work, not block work. Culling mods skip entities behind walls, but the hub's NPCs are right in front of you.
mods folder, next to Sodium and your other mods./entitykeepsake to see how many entities are being reused./entitykeepsake off and /entitykeepsake on while you watch your FPS.In a crowded test scene with hologram stands and player NPCs, in a 112-mod SkyBlock modpack that already had Sodium, Lithium, ImmediatelyFast and Entity Culling, average FPS went from 52.4 to 85.3 and the 1% low from 40.4 to 57.2. The gain depends on your PC and how many still entities are on screen: it's biggest in busy hubs and small in an empty area.
Entity Keepsake only changes how fast your client draws entities. Everything looks the same and it gives no gameplay advantage. Still, check Hypixel's rules: you're responsible for the mods you use.
