Hold My Items alternative for Minecraft 26.2

Hold My Items has no build for Minecraft 26.x yet: its newest version is for 1.21.11. On 26.2, install Hand Animations. It does the same job, a visible hand holding your items plus an inspect key, and adds Hypixel SkyBlock animations and per-item animations from resource packs.
Hold My Items is the mod most people know for this: it makes your hand visible in first person while you hold items. Its last release targets Minecraft 1.21.11, so if you updated to 26.2 it won't load. Hand Animations was made to fill that gap.
What's the same
- A visible hand holding your item in first person, instead of a floating item.
- An inspect key to turn the held item over and look at it (Y by default).
- Item-specific swings and animations, a draw animation when you switch items, and a settings screen.
- Client-side Fabric mod: works on any server.

Hand Animations also has a two-handed bow draw (your other hand pulls the string), eating and drinking that bring the item to your mouth, crossbow, shield, trident, spear, brush and fishing rod animations, and every group can be switched off.
How to switch
- Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.2 and Fabric API.
- Download Hand Animations and put it in your
modsfolder. Remove old Hold My Items jars from a 26.2 instance, they won't load there anyway. - Launch and hold an item. Press Y to inspect, and type
/handanimationsfor the settings.

- Does Hold My Items work on Minecraft 26.2?
- Not as of October 2026. Its newest release is for 1.21.11. Hand Animations is a client-side Fabric alternative that runs on 26.2.
- Can I use my Hold My Items settings or packs?
- No. Hand Animations has its own settings and its own resource pack format: one JSON file per item in assets/<namespace>/handanimations/items/.

- Yes. Download it for free from Modrinth or CurseForge.
